Five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on a ramp to the Don Valley Parkway on Thursday morning that was allegedly caused by an impaired driver.

The crash on the Bayview/Bloor ramp, which caused both vehicles to rollover, happened just before 6 a.m.

Toronto Police Const. Clint Stibbe said a northbound car driving on the ramp lost control and struck a truck heading west.

Two passengers in the truck were able to get out of the vehicle but a third passenger needed to be cut out by emergency crews.

The driver of the car, who had two passengers, is facing impaired charges.

All five people involved in the accident were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Stibbe said the roadway was open by 10 a.m. but caused extensive delays during the morning rush hour.
