File photo of keys in front of a square glass filled with alcohol. A Mississauga mom is facing impaired driving charges after she was involved in a minor collision while en route to pick up her children from school.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28 in the area of Thorn Lodge and Woodchester drives, near Woodchester Mall.

Police say the woman was driving to pick up her children from school when she was involved in a “minor collision” with another vehicle, according to Peel Const. Bally Saini.

Police responded for the crash and administered roadside testing and arrested the woman. Police allege she had more than five times the legal limit of alcohol allowed in her system.

Mary Modrcin, 36, has been charged with impaired driving and excess blood alcohol.

She will appear in court April 21. Police say the Peel Children’s Aid Society has been notified and will be conducting an investigation.
