handcuffsA Timmins woman is charged with impaired driving after reports were received of an erratic driver on the highway west of Sudbury.

On June 17, at 1:52 p.m., members of the Sudbury detachment of the OPP “received a call about a possible impaired driver on Highway 17 in Walden,” the OPP said in a release.

“The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted,” the OPP said. “Investigation revealed that motorists in the area were concerned with the way the motor vehicle was being operated. Upon officers speaking to the driver, it was believed she was under the influence of alcohol.”

As a result, Candy Mae Young, 47, was arrested and charged with impaired driving over 80 mgs.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 28.

Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle she was driving was impounded for seven days.
