Three teenagers have been charged with stunt driving, after police allegedly caught them driving well over the speed limit in Lakeshore on the weekend.
In a news release issued Monday, the Ontario Provincial Police say an officer spotted three vehicles travelling “at a high rate of speed” along Essex County Road 22 on Saturday night.
The news release says “it took the officer a significant distance to catch up to the three vehicles.”
But police say the officer managed to catch up with them at a stoplight at Commercial Boulevard.
A 16-year-old and two 17-year-old drivers were each charged with stunt driving. Police impounded all three of the drivers’ vehicles for a seven-day period.
The charges against the accused have not been proven in court.
