Two cars collided on Paling Avenue near Britannia Avenue in east Hamilton just before 4 p.m. Monday, sending a VW Jetta off the road.

A woman was taken to hospital Monday afternoon after her car flipped over and rolled into the front porch of a home in the city’s east end.

Staff Sergeant Greg Doerr said two cars collided on Paling Avenue near Brittania Avenue just before 4 p.m., sending a VW Jetta off the road. The car ended up on its roof up against a house.

Doerr said the woman was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, nor were the residents of the home, police said.

However, city building inspectors were called to the home to check on whether it’s structurally sound.

Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the crash, Doerr said, but the investigation is ongoing.
