A Brampton man has been accused of leading Napanee OPP on a drunken chase in a stolen vehicle.

Motorists called the OPP to report a vehicle travelling erratically on Highway 401 in the eastbound lanes just before 11 a.m. Feb. 11. Police say officers in Tweed had attempted to stop the same vehicle, reported stolen in Brampton, earlier in the day.

Napanee OPP officers attempted to stop the vehicle, following it from Highway 401 to Highway 41 where it was eventually pulled over, said police.

Ryan James, 24, of Brampton was arrested and charged with 13 criminal offences including flight from police, dangerous driving, driving while under suspension, impaired driving, possession of stolen property, driving with open liquor in a vehicle and failing to comply with probation.

No injuries were reported
