After months of detours, a section of Brealey Drive is now open

PETERBOROUGH — Access to Fleming College is now a little easier.

Phase one of a major construction project along Brealey Drive is now complete, says Kirk Chenier, construction services co-ordinator with the City.

Motorists can access the college along with adjacent businesses and the student residences from the south end of Brealey. Mr. Chenier says the road is open to local traffic from Stenson Boulevard to Sir Sandford Fleming Drive.

Mr. Chenier says having the lower section of the Brealey Drive reconstruction complete will make it easier for students to get to the college in September.

However, work is still being done on the section of road north of Stenson Boulevard. The road is torn up as crews install storm sewer pipes.

“We will be putting in concrete curbs and sidewalks in the next month,” says Mr. Chenier.

He adds the project is on schedule and Brealey Drive should reopen completely by Nov. 15.
