Numerous calls on Thursday prompted the Brockville Police Service to issue a release about an email scam that is reportedly making the rounds in the area.

The prospective victim receives an email that references a “traffic infringement notice” and money that is allegedly owed. It is a fraudulent notice, according to city police. Recipients are being advised to block the sender, mark it as scam and/or delete it. Do not respond to such an email or send a payment, according to Brockville police.
