Ten commercial motor vehicles inspected last week in Bowmanville were taken off of the road due to safety concerns.

On Thursday, April 27, 2017, DRPS officers from the Traffic Services Unit and East Division were joined by representatives from the Ministry of Transportation to conduct a commercial motor vehicle inspection blitz in Bowmanville. This blitz took place during the Seasonal Load Restriction Period (March 01 – April 30), which limits the allowable weight per axle to 5,000 kg. on most Clarington and Oshawa roads.

The team inspected 13 vehicles and took 10 of those out of service for safety violations, including improper brakes and insecure loads. Officers laid 32 charges for various mechanical and document related infractions.

DRPS would like to thank all of the agencies involved with conducting this blitz, which took some dangerous vehicles off of the road.
