A driver who was stopped for distracted driving was also busted for drunk driving Wednesday.
A vehicle was stopped by OPP around 7 p.m. after the driver was reportedly seen using a hand-held device on Highway 417 westbound near the Moodie Dr. overpass, according to a police news release. The investigation resulted in more charges, including driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood, as well as driving motor a vehicle on a highway while using a hand-held wireless communication device.
Antonio Lopez Jovel, 32, is charged.
The OPP is asking the public to call 911 if impaired driving is suspected.
