A 20-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with stunt driving after police say they caught him going more than double the speed limit.

On Tuesday shortly before 11:00 p.m. Hamilton Police noticed a 2018 Infiniti driving fast as it passed other vehicles.

Police say the car was going eastbound on Main Street West approaching Hess Street South.

Police say they recorded the car going 112km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.

“Driving 112 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone in your 2018 Infiniti is going to get you unwanted attention,” said police.

Along with the stunt driving charge, the man’s car has been impounded for a week and his licence has been suspended for a week as well.

The driver is scheduled for a court appearance Jan. 3.
