Purple heroin and crystal methamphetamine, with a street value estimated at $1,000, was allegedly seized by Sarnia police during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the vehicle was stopped near George and Russell streets at approximately 2 p.m. and the driver had been arrested for driving while suspended when a search allegedly turned up the drugs.

The 30-year-old driver and a 29-year-old female passenger both face drug charges.

A vehicle stop on Christina Street Wednesday afternoon led to three more arrests.

Sarnia police said a vehicle was stopped at approximately 1:30 p.m. and it’s alleged two of the three occupants were subject to a court order not to be in contact with each other.

Police allege one of the suspects was attempting to disguise her identity by wearing a wig.

During a search of the vehicle, police allege they found a backpack with approximately 300 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag with a street value estimated at $3,000.

Police said that while use of recreational marijuana is legal, individuals are not allowed to possess more than 30 grams.

Police allege the way the marijuana was packaged, along with the scales that were found during the search, led to criminal charges.

Two 25-year-old men and a 24-year-old woman were arrested and face charges of possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it.

The woman, and one of the men, were also charged with breaching a court order.
