Drunk driving charges have been laid against a man accused of fleeing after crashing his truck on the lawn of an Oshawa residence on Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of the crash at a home on Labrador Drive around 10:35 p.m. on Feb. 28, Durham police said. A man was seen fleeing on foot after the pickup left the roadway, hit a tree, and came to rest on the front lawn, police said.

A police canine unit conducted a search of the area and arrested a suspect on Harmony Road.

Ian Gray, 31, of Norman Crescent in Oshawa is charged with impaired driving, driving while exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit, and failure to remain.
