Peel police have arrested a man in connection with a serious crash in east Brampton Monday evening, Sept. 19 at Ebenezer and The Gore roads that sent one person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An Oshawa man was injured but is facing drunk driving and hit-and-run charges in a rollover crash Monday night (Sept. 19) that sent a Brampton man to hospital with critical injuries.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at The Gore Road and Ebenezer Road just before 8 p.m. It occurred as one of the vehicles was making a left turn at the intersection and the impact of the crash caused a rollover.

One of the drivers involved in the collision fled the scene on foot, but was arrested close to the scene a short time later, according to Peel Regional Police. He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The other driver, a 40-year-old Brampton man, was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. His condition has since improved and he is expected to live.

Hiren Trivedi, 26, has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, excess blood alcohol causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of a crash causing bodily harm.

Police say witnesses can call 905-453-2121, ext. 3710.
