At about 3:15 p.m. last Tuesday (Feb. 6), Dufferin OPP say officers patrolling Pineview Avenue saw a “suspicious male” loitering near a residence hide behind a car.
Police say further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of break-in tools. Officers seized a 2015 grey Dodge pickup truck that had been reported stolen, along with a separate set of license plates.
Barry Newman, 70, of Hamilton, is charged with possession of break-in tools, trespass by night and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
The charges have not been proven in court. The accused is scheduled to answer to the allegations in an Orangeville courtroom at a later date.
