A 51-year-old Richmond Hill male was involved in a fatal motor vehicle collision on Brock Road, south of Highway 7 in Pickering the night of July 24.

On Tuesday July 24, 2018 at approximately 8:13 p.m., officers from West Division were called to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a single motor vehicle. A white ice cream truck was southbound on Brock Road when it mounted a centre median and struck a traffic light post before rolling on to its side.

The 51-year-old driver of the ice cream truck was treated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area around the residence was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
