Hamilton firefighters rescued a child trapped under a car near Upper Ottawa Street on the Mountain on Thursday.

“We have a child who has been struck and who was under a vehicle. Paramedics and police were already there when we arrived,” fire department spokesperson Claudio Mostacci said.

Police said the child has serious but not life-threatening injuries.

They were still investigating how the accident happened near the corner of Silverton and Templemead drives Thursday afternoon.
