Ontario Provincial Police say an officer from the Russell County Detachment stopped to help a woman whose vehicle was stuck in the snow January 18th and when he helped her push the car out of the ditch, she hugged him as a thank you.

That’s when the officer says he noticed the smell of alcohol on her breath. The woman was taken back to the detachment for breath testing.

Mary Ann McNulty, 49, of Russell is charged with impaired driving and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system.
