A man has been charged with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident following a rollover crash in Oakville early Sunday morning.

Halton police say a car was travelling eastbound on the QEW when it lost control on the Royal Windsor Drive off ramp around 4 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 16) morning.

One of the three occupants of the car was ejected while the driver fled the scene on foot, police say.

He was arrested a short distance away.

The driver and the two passengers were taken to hospital. A man and woman had serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver has been charged with impaired driver causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of the accident.

Halton police initially responded to the crash because it was believed to have occurred on Royal Windsor Drive; however, the OPP have since taken over the investigation.
