On Friday, April 26, Durham Regional Police stopped a vehicle in Pickering. The stop resulted in police seizing two loaded handguns.

The incident began when police stopped a Land Rover at Kingston and Brock roads around 2:30 PM, Durham police said. As a passenger walked away from the scene, a nearby observer told officers that a bag had been left beside the vehicle.

Police discovered two handguns in the vehicle and arrested the driver.

Desmond Morgan, 28, of Kearney Drive in Ajax, faces 17 firearms charges. He was also charged with driving while under suspension.
