Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man with impaired driving after he allegedly drove drunk with three of his children in his vehicle in Oakville.

Police say they were alerted to a vehicle being driven by a man suspected to be impaired (driving eastbound on the QEW) at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Police stopped the vehicle (near the Third Line), the man was arrested and he was asked to provide breath samples.

The driver was charged with impaired driving and the mother of the children was contacted and took custody of the children.

Police say the Children’s Aid Society was contacted about the incident.

The driver has been released on a promise to appear at an unknown future court date. Police say no identifying information has been released in order to protect the children’s identities.
