Kingston Police said in a news release that at about 8 p.m. a man was driving a vehicle and turned onto Birchwood Drive when he came across an officer on patrol. The patrol officer recognized the man and knew that he was a suspended driver. The officer also noted that the vehicle he was driving was not registered to him.

The man made eye-contact with the officer and then appeared to try to escape the situation by making several quick turns. The officer conducted a U-turn and quickly caught up with the man.

A records check confirmed the man was on two driving suspensions and the 36-year-old local man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with two counts of drive under suspension. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
