A section of Memorial Avenue will be temporarily closed starting Friday.

THUNDER BAY – A section of Memorial Avenue, between Second Avenue and High Street, will be closed to northbound traffic starting on Friday, Oct. 26.

The closure is necessary for watermain rehabilitation work taking place at the Memorial Avenue and First Avenue intersection. Work is expected to be complete by end of the day on Friday, Nov. 2.

Northbound traffic is to follow the posted detour route, which will be Central Avenue, Fort William Road, and John Street. Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Throughout the construction, pedestrian access will not be affected and regular business hours will continue for businesses located within the work area.

Those travelling near the construction zone are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage.
