police cruiser parked in accessible spotNiagara Regional Police have responded to photos which surfaced on social media over the weekend showing a marked cruiser parked in an accessible parking space and say they are reviewing the circumstances surrounding it.

The photos were posted Saturday, with the poster saying they were taken in a Zehrs parking lot in Niagara Falls. The photos were also widely circulated, with some 837 shares as of Tuesday afternoon.

On its social media accounts, the NRP responded, noting that in certain circumstances, an urgent response may require this type of action, though they expect officers to use proper judgment.

“It is always an expectation that officers will be considerate of the need to balance rapid response with the needs of the public they serve,” the post reads.
