An off-duty DRPS officer has been charged with impaired driving after a collision occurred in Whitby over the weekend.

On Sunday, July 19, 2015, at approximately 1:40 a.m., a collision occurred at Brock Street and Consumers Drive. An off-duty officer rear-ended another vehicle that had three occupants inside. The two passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The officer was arrested, his vehicle was impounded for seven days and his license was suspended for 90 days.

William BROWELL, age 41 of West Division, has been charged with Impaired Driving. He was released on a Promise to Appear. He has been assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of the case.
