Fight Driving Without Licence Charges

In order to legally drive, you must hold a valid licence that matches the class of vehicle you are driving – for example, a class G licence for a car, or class M licence for a motorcycle. Without the appropriate licence, you commit an offence under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act (HTA). If you have a licence but it has expired and you have not yet renewed it, you could also be charged with this offence.

Penalties for Driving Without Licence

  • Minimum fine of $200, maximum $1000
  • Conviction on your driving record for three years

In addition, your insurance premiums could significantly increase due to being convicted of driving without a driver’s licence.
