Caledon OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver driving erratically northbound on Highway 10 on Sunday, April 1 at about 6:45 a.m.
Police located the suspect vehicle, a beige 2003 Hyundai Elantra, on Highway 10 near Highpoint Side Road and pulled the driver over. During the stop, the officer determined that the driver’s ability to operate a car was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and arrested him accordingly.
As a result, Philip Louis Fernandes, 25, of Orangeville was charged with the following offences: driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood, driving while ability impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 19 to answer to the charges.
