A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of King and James streets in downtown Hamilton around 2:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

Police said the man is in his 20s. As of about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, police reopened the busy downtown intersection.

Paramedics transported one patient in serious condition to Hamilton General Hospital, said Greg Martin, a supervisor with Hamilton Paramedic Service.

Traffic was delayed traveling through the core.

GO Transit and Hamilton Street Railway bus routes were detoured during the closure.
