It happened at 6:08 p.m. on April 16. Police say a Ford Escape was heading westbound on Dundas Street, approaching Eaglesfield Drive.
The driver, a 61-year-old Burlington man, was turning left onto Eaglesfield Drive when a motorcycle hit the right side of the SUV. Police believe the speed of the motorcycle was a factor.
The motorcycle driver, 43-year-old Mitchel Crate of Waterdown, was thrown from the vehicle and “came to rest within the Ford,” police say. The woman on the back of the motorcycle, 35-year-old Arlette Shamoun, was thrown onto the grass at the southeast corner of the intersection.
Sgt. Andy Dennis said the SUV burst into flames shortly after firefighters arrived. Firefighters put out the fire.
All three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
