A 24-year-old man was arrested after a high-risk takedown on the QEW a little after 5 p.m. on January 27, 2016.
OPP Staff Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said there was an altercation between two drivers on the QEW near Bartlett.
One driver phoned police claiming the other had a weapon.
Police were waiting for the driver of the maroon two-door sedan with firearms drawn, near Burloak Drive on the QEW in Burlington, “demanding him to get out,” said Schmidt.
Schmidt was not ready to reveal whether a weapon was found.
The man was put in custody at a Burlington detachment. No charges were laid as the investigation is ongoing.
The highway was re-opened.
