A truck rolled over the on-ramp for the Toronto-bound QEW
Officials say both ramps from the Red Hill Valley Parkway to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) Toronto-bound were closed after a dump truck rolled over on Monday and spilled fuel on the roadway.“[The fuel tanks] ruptured so they did spill some fuel,” said Hamilton Fire spokesperson Claudio Mostacci. But there was no fire as a result of the spill and no injuries have been reported.
He said both the on and off-ramps were closed until further notice. OPP and the Ministry of Environment are investigating.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said on Twitter that police are investigating if the dump truck may have been “cut off.” No charges have been laid yet.
The ramp was expected to reopen at 6 p.m.
