North Bay police carA complaint about an erratic driver led to a litany of charges against a Corbeil man on the weekend.

The accused had allegedly been drinking on Friday, Oct. 7 when he decided to drive to the home of his former partner. Once he got there a verbal dispute between the two occurred outside and turned violent when he allegedly threatened her.

Police turned up because someone had called to complain the accused had been driving erratically. While they attempted to arrest the man, police said he remained in an agitated state and police struggled to gain control of him.

Once he was arrested, police said a search of his vehicle revealed he was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

The 34-year-old is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, uttering threats, assault with intent to resist arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
