Drug Arrest

(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, March 3, 2016, during the noon hour, a Street Crime Unit detective spotted a man driving in Bradford that he knew was under suspension. He called for a uniform car, and the suspect was stopped and pulled over. During the stop, they saw the driver reaching behind his seat before stopping. The man was arrested, and a search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of cocaine behind the seat. The man was on a bail condition to abstain from possession of drugs. A 38 year old Bradford man was held in custody for a new bail hearing on charges of Possession of Cocaine and Fail to Comply Recognizance. A number of Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid, and his vehicle was impounded for a week.

Stunt Driving

(Innisfil, ON) On Thursday, March 3, 2016, just before 9:00 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Canine Unit was patrolling Yonge Street in Innisfil, north of Churchill. The officer saw a speeding car and activated the radar unit. The vehicle reached speeds of 139 km/h, 59 km/h over the posted limit. The officer stopped the car, and a 23 year old Innisfil woman was charged with Stunt Driving and Speeding. She will appear in court in April. Her car has been impounded for 7 days, and her licence suspended.

Threatening

(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, March 2, 2016, a woman came into the station and told South Simcoe Police that her former husband had threatened her while she was picking up her daughter from his house, earlier that evening. On March 3, 2016, the suspect surrendered himself to South Simcoe Police. A 33 year old Innisfil man will be in court in April, charged with Uttering Threats. He is to abstain from contacting the victim, and agreed to abstain from alcohol as well.
