A 34-year-old male faces numerous charges after attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle in Bowmanville.

On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at approximately 7:32 a.m., officers responded to a possible impaired driver at Walmart on Regional Highway 2 in Bowmanville. Officers arrived and located the vehicle unoccupied. Through investigation it was revealed that the vehicle was stolen after a break and enter earlier in Oshawa. Officers located the suspect in the store and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to arrest the male outside and prevented him from driving away.

Sanford EGAN, age 34 of no fixed address, is charged with: Theft under $5000; Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2; Break and Enter; Theft of Motor Vehicle Over $5000; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; Drive while Disqualified x3 and Driving While Under Suspension. He was held for a bail hearing.
