A 35-year-old Tay Township man has been arrested for driving an e-bike through Port McNicoll while intoxicated.

On Saturday April 29, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m. an officer from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP was conducting general patrol duties in Port McNicoll when he became concerned about the driver behaviour of an e-bike travelling on Seventh Ave. The officer conducted a traffic stop at Talbot Street and Eighth Ave.

During the stop, the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver of the e-bike, 35-year-old Bradley Ranson, was subsequently arrested and charged with: driving while ability impaired, care or control over 80 mgs, and obstructing a peace officer.

Ranson is scheduled to appear in a Midland courtroom on May 18.
