A 19-year-old female from Bowmanville was arrested after the car she was driving left the roadway, seriously injuring one of her four passengers.

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers from East Division responded to Lambs Road and Concession Road 4 for a single vehicle collision. A red Saturn had been travelling northbound on Lambs Road, failed to negotiate the turn in the road, and drove into a wooded area. The driver was arrested at the scene while the four passengers were checked at a local hospital. A male passenger, who initially appeared to have minor injuries, was later transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Kaley McKEEN, age 19, of Tilley Road in Bowmanville, is charged with: Impaired Driving and Exceed 80 mgs. She was later released on a Promise to Appear.
