Kingston Fire and Rescue, Kingston Police and Frontenac Paramedic Services teamed up Wednesday to film a public service announcement revealing the dangers of texting and driving.

The commercial was shot at various locations in Kingston, including in front of City Hall and at the fire and rescue training centre, 3 Terry Fox Dr.

“Texting and driving is just not suitable for this day and age because it does cause a number of deaths,” Don Corbett, deputy fire chief, said at the training centre Wednesday. “We’re hoping to get information out there to just give people a better understanding that texting and driving just don’t mix.”

The commercial, directed and shot by Josh Lyon of AKAFLK, was filmed Wednesday and will continue May 6.
