An 80-year-old man has died following a seven-car crash on Hwy. 401 in Mississauga, Saturday, Spet. 3 at 6 p.m.

An 80-year-old Toronto man was killed and three other people were taken to hospital after a seven-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga on Saturday night.

The Ontario Provincial Police said the vehicles collided in the eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401, just past Dixie Road, about 6 p.m.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said all four people were taken to hospital, where the Toronto man was pronounced dead. The other three people suffered minor injuries.

Police aren’t releasing the name of the victim until next-of-kin can be notified.

Meanwhile, the highway’s eastbound collector lanes were closed for several hours for the police investigation and clean up.
