Traffic was briefly disrupted along a stretch of Jane Street on Friday morning after about 10 crates of live chickens fell from the back of a moving truck.

It happened near Jane Street and Dundas Street at around 7:25 a.m.

Police say that the truck did not stop following the incident, suggesting that the driver may not have realized he had lost his cargo.

At one point, police say that six or seven chickens were on the loose in the roadway.

Some of those chickens have since died.

Animal Services has been notified.
