Quinte West OPP have charged a 25-year-old man with drunk driving after a vehicle ended up in the Trent River.
Officers arrived on scene near Frankford Road to find the car on its roof in the water.
Officers were able to get the occupants out of the vehicle with the help of the local fire department.
Ryan Cannon is facing a charge of driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and one of driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in the blood.
Both Cannon and another occupant were treated for minor injuries.
