A man faces charges in a Nov. 27 collision that took the life a pedestrian.

Police said a 22-year-old woman was at the southwest corner of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue when an eastbound fuel tanker truck turned south at the intersection and made contact with the pedestrian.

The 45-year-old driver continued south on Bathurst. He was eventually stopped by a witness who advised him of the collision.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver has now been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian, careless driving and failing to stop at a red light and is expected to appear in court March 10.

Police are asking anyone with information to call traffic services at 416-808-1900.
