A driving complaint called in to the OPP helped them nab a pair of suspects.
Two women are in police custody after a traffic stop on Lea Street in Pembroke lead to their arrests.
The Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police received a driving complaint Sunday evening, and ended up stopping a vehicle which was believed to have been stolen from the Hamilton area.
Officers also uncovered some drugs and a weapon.
Stephanie Burgess, 39, of Pembroke has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance – fentanyl
- Fail to comply with probation – two counts
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Kerrie Lynn Buker, 36, of no fixed address, is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Obstruct peace officer
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Fail to comply with probation
- Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order – two counts
Both remain in custody until their next scheduled court appearance by video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 3.
