Faruq Anani and Dylan Stephenson have been identified as the Milton teens who died in Sunday’s single-vehicle crash on James Snow Parkway.

Two teens died in a fiery crash in Milton Sunday afternoon.

They’ve been identified as Craig Kielburger Secondary School students Dylan Stephenson and Faruq Anani.

The single-vehicle collision occurred just after 2:30 p.m., when a black Nissan 350z travelling west on James Snow Parkway left the roadway and struck a pole.

The vehicle, according to police, caught fire. Responding officers worked to extinguish the blaze before the Milton fire department arrived on the scene, east of Esquesing Line. Several officers were treated for smoke inhalation.

The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Good Samaritans passing by the area stopped to assist the passenger, removing the 17-year-old from the vehicle. The passenger was airlifted to a Hamilton trauma centre, where he died.

The Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. It’s believed speed is a factor in the crash.

Witnesses have provided statements to police, however, officers are appealing to others with information to come forward.

Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision are asked to contact the collision reconstruction unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
