handcuffsTwo men are facing impaired driving charges following a three-car collision in Whitby over the weekend.

At about 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, police responded to a crash at Thickson Road North and Crawford Street after a southbound GMC van turned left in front of a northbound Acura Sedan. The third vehicle, a blue Ford Sedan, was also northbound and struck the Acura after the initial impact.
Drivers of the GMC van and the Acura were separately arrested and charged with impaired driving. No injuries were reported. Garry Anstey, 43, of Crawforth Street in Whitby, is charged with impaired care or control of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, blood alcohol level exceeding 80 mgs, and with making an unsafe turn.

Jason Coffin, 41, of Maguire Drive in Millbrook, is charged with impaired driving, failure to provide a breath sample, and two counts of driving with a suspended licence.

Both men were later released on an undertaking with conditions.
