On March 22, 2018, officers with the Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF), working in collaboration with their Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) partners, arrested two individuals following a vehicle traffic stop at a South Glengarry marina. The female driver, Elizabeth MARACLE (aged 59) from Akwesasne, Ontario and a male passenger, Rahsontanohstha DELORMIER (aged 23) from Akwesasne, New York were subsequently charged for being in possession of unstamped tobacco, pursuant to the Excise Act, 2001. They will both appear in Cornwall Provincial Court on April 17, 2018.

The vehicle along with 12 bags of fine cut tobacco weighing a total of 214.3 kg were seized.
