A 27-year-old Milton man is dead and 14 others were injured in a five-car crash on Hwy. 401 in Mississauga Sunday, Nov. 13.

The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Winston Churchill Boulevard.

A passenger in the the Milton man’s vehicle was seriously injured. The other injuries were described as minor.

“We’re still dealing with family members and notifying next of kin,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.

Schmidt said speed was not believed to be a factor in the collision. Some children were among the 14 people hurt, but their injuries weren’t serious.

Schmidt said investigators are on scene “mapping” the evidence and will be re-constructing the crash in an effort to determine how it occurred.
