Ottawa police.
And they heard some doozies when it comes to dumb excuses.
A driver going 125 km/h in an 80 zone on Limebank Road in Sunday’s pea soup explained “”I can’t see… it’s foggy,” Const. Phil Kane reported.
“Alllllllllllllllrighty then,” Kane tweeted.
On Saturday, the unit nabbed a driver going 128 km/h in a 60 zone on the Heron Road Bridge. The driver explained he is part of a group of cars “playing a game.”
Guess he didn’t win this one: he earns himself a seven-day car impound and driver’s licence suspension plus an upcoming court appearance.
Moments later, another driver was caught in the same spot doing 112 km/h.
Const. Jon Hall, another traffic team member, summed it up on Twitter.
“Neither rain, nor ice, nor fog will discourage some #autowa drivers.”

YOUR #ottpolice traffic team laid 59 charges despite the weather: 1 stunt driving/42 speeding/3 distracted driving/1 stop sign…no wonder there are so many collisions. #ottnews #otttraffic pic.twitter.com/e2ic9uQ7Yi
