Halton police are investigating a fatality that claimed the life of a 31-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle.

A 31-year-old motorcyclist from Flamborough died at the scene of a crash in north Burlington Sunday morning.

Staff Sgt. Brett Wilkinson of Halton police said the motorcycle and a car collided at about 11:20 a.m.

The motorcyclist, on a 2007 Kawasaki, was southbound on Guelph Line north of Colling Road when his bike struck a vehicle attempting to enter the Mount Nemo Conservation Area.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

Wilkinson said collision reconstruction crews were investigating and as a result, closed Guelph Line in both directions for three hours.

The identity of the victim was not released.

Witnesses are asked to call the collision reconstruction unit at 825-4747 ext. 5065.
