Two boys, 13 years old, crashed their ATV into a tree while driving on private property.

The collision happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Maryhill.

The tree the teens crashed into.

Both boys were taken to Guelph General hospital. They are from Elora.

The passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The teens were under adult supervision and had permission from the property owners to drive the ATV.

Speed was not a factor in the crash, police say.

They are reminding the public that when operating ATVs, following safety protocol is paramount — including wearing a helmet and appropriate clothing.
