A Brampton man is facing several charges after a traffic stop led to a scuffle on Saturday, Jan. 21.

A 32-year-old Brampton man is facing charges after a scuffle broke out during a traffic stop on Saturday, Jan. 21 afternoon.

Peel Regional Police say an officer had pulled a car over in the area of Bovaird Drive West and Ashby Field Road around 12:30 p.m. when the officer placed the male driver of the vehicle under arrest. However, police say the driver began to struggle with the officer.

The officer called for help over the radio and police rushed to the scene to offer him assistance.

Both the driver and the officer suffered minor injuries.

Facing various charges, including assault with intent to resist arrest and obstruct peace officer, as well as several Highway Traffic Act offences is Orlando Smart.
